Zhuur was born from a friendship — and from a belief that the finest things in life deserve to be shared. Founded by a group of friends with roots in Uruguay and Washington, D.C., the brand was built at the crossroads of two worlds: the warmth and tradition of Latin America, and the sophistication of a global sensibility.

The name Zhuur is a feeling. It is the quiet confidence of wrapping yourself in something extraordinary. It is South America distilled — its freedom, its resilience, its deep connection to land and craft — expressed through pieces designed for the modern world.

The Making

Every Zhuur piece begins in the highlands of the Andes, where baby alpaca fiber is harvested from animals raised above 4,000 meters. At this altitude, the fiber develops a fineness and warmth unmatched by any other natural material — softer than cashmere, lighter than wool, and naturally hypoallergenic.

From there, the fiber travels to the hands of artisan families in the Andean region, where weaving is not a trade but a tradition passed down through generations. Each scarf, shawl, cape and throw is made by hand — slowly, deliberately, without shortcuts. The result is a piece that carries within it the memory of the hands that made it.

We work exclusively with certified cooperatives that follow ethical and sustainable practices. No factories. No mass production. Every fiber is traceable, every artisan is paid fairly, and every piece is made to outlast seasons — in quality, and in style.
